For Knock lock screen - Applock ยท Effective June 14, 2026 ยท Last updated August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how GoldenKing Apps ("we", "us", or "our"), the developer of the Android application Knock lock screen - Applock (the "App"), accesses, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the App. It applies to the App only and forms part of our commitment to the Google Play User Data policy.
The short version. Knock lock is a lock screen and app locker, so it necessarily handles sensitive things: your passcode, which apps you chose to lock, and โ if you switch it on โ a photo of whoever fails to unlock your phone. Every one of those stays on your device and never reaches us. There is no account, and although the App shows ads to stay free, your passcode, your locked-app list, and your intruder photos are never sent to our ad partners or to anyone else.
com.knocklock.applock)a) Information that stays on your device (we never collect or receive it):
All of this is held in the App's private storage inside Android's app sandbox. We have no access to it and it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and no part of it is included in analytics or crash reports.
b) Information collected automatically (anonymous, not personally identifying):
c) Information you send us voluntarily:
d) Information we do not collect:
This is the complete set of Android permissions the App declares, each with the reason it is needed:
VIBRATE) โ Provides haptic feedback as you enter your knock pattern or passcode, so unlocking works without looking. It reads nothing from your device.DISABLE_KEYGUARD) โ Lets the App's own lock screen replace the system keyguard so you are not asked to unlock twice. It cannot disable a device password, PIN, or pattern you have set in Android settings.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) โ Draws the App's own screen on top of whatever is running. The App only draws its own interface โ it never reads, records, or transmits anything displayed by another app.INTERNET) โ Lets the App reach the network โ used to load in-app content, to send the anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics described above, and to request ads.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) โ optional; you grant it, and the App works without it โ Lets the App save your chosen wallpaper and any intruder photo to its own storage on your device, and delete them again when you ask. It touches only files the App itself created or that you selected.WAKE_LOCK) โ Keeps the lock screen responsive while it is on display, so it does not sleep mid-unlock. No data is collected as a result.READ_PHONE_STATE) โ optional; you grant it, and the App works without it โ Detects only whether a call is ringing or in progress, so the App can step out of the way and you never miss a call. No phone number, call log, IMEI, or other identifier is read, stored, or transmitted.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) โ optional; you grant it, and the App works without it โ Lets you choose one of your own images as a lock-screen wallpaper. The App reads only the file you pick; your gallery is never scanned, indexed, or uploaded.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) โ Lets the App restore its service after you restart your device, so the feature you enabled keeps working without you re-opening the App.CAMERA) โ optional; you grant it, and the App works without it โ Used only for the intruder-selfie feature, and only after you explicitly turn it on. A photo is taken after repeated failed unlock attempts, stored in a private in-app gallery on your device, and never uploaded. The App does not record video or use the camera at any other time, and it works fully without this permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) โ Checks whether you are online before attempting a transfer, so the App fails gracefully offline rather than hanging. To lock the apps you selected, the App has to be able to tell when one of them comes to the foreground, and Android grants that ability only through a special access screen you open yourself. That check happens entirely on your device: the App acts on the app you just opened and keeps no history of it, and the result is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can withdraw the access at any time in your device's special-access settings, and the App will stop locking apps from that moment.
The App does not request location, contacts, SMS, call log, or microphone permissions.
You can review and revoke any permission you granted at any time in Settings โ Apps โ Knock lock screen - Applock โ Permissions.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not build individual profiles of you.
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, which is how it stays free. AdMob and its partners may process your Android advertising ID (AAID), IP-derived coarse location, device information, and ad interaction events to select, deliver, cap, and measure ads and to detect fraud. This processing is governed by Google's policy on how it uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. We never send our ad partners the on-device information listed in Section 2(a).
Your controls:
The App contains no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
We do not sell personal information. We share limited, anonymous data only with the service providers below, each acting under its own privacy policy and our instructions:
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to (for example in response to valid legal process), or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. If GoldenKing Apps is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will give notice in the App or on this page before any personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
The App has no accounts and no user profiles, so we hold no record that identifies you or that could be looked up by name, email, or any other identifier. Everything is either under your direct control on your device, or deleted automatically on a fixed schedule by our providers:
There is no deletion request to make, and no waiting on us. Because we never receive data tied to your identity, we cannot offer โ and you do not need โ a manual deletion process: clearing the App's data or uninstalling it removes everything on your device at once, deleting your advertising ID stops all future ad collection, and the anonymous analytics and crash data expire on the schedules above with no action from you. If you have questions about any of this, email help.knocklock@gmail.com.
Data transmitted between the App and our providers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Data stored on your device is protected by Android's app sandbox and the device encryption provided by your operating system. Your passcode, locked-app list, and intruder photos are held in the App's private sandbox storage rather than in shared storage, so other apps cannot read them. We limit access to the diagnostic data we receive to those who need it, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers process data on servers that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where data originating in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland is transferred, it is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism operated by the provider.
The App is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the App is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email help.knocklock@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct or delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw a consent you previously gave, receive your data in a portable form, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
EEA / UK (GDPR): the rights above apply to you, and you may complain to your supervisory
authority. You can withdraw or change your advertising consent at any time from the App's privacy-options entry.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of
the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by
the CCPA, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising a right. Ad personalization can be switched off using the controls in Section 5.
Other regions (including Brazil's LGPD and India's DPDP Act) โ equivalent rights apply, and the same
contact address serves them.
How these rights work in practice. The App collects no information that identifies you, so in almost every case we hold nothing to give you access to, correct, export, or delete โ we would be unable to tell which anonymous records, if any, came from your device. The most effective control is therefore direct and immediate, and needs no request to us: the deletion steps in Section 7. You are welcome to email help.knocklock@gmail.com with any privacy question or request; we reply within 30 days, free of charge, and will tell you plainly what we do and do not hold rather than claim a capability we lack.
The Data safety section on the App's Google Play listing summarises the same practices described here: data is encrypted in transit, none of the data collected by us identifies you personally, no data is sold or shared with anyone other than the providers named in Section 6, and โ because nothing we receive is linked to your identity โ there is no deletion request mechanism, only the automatic expiry and on-device controls set out in Section 7. If you ever find a discrepancy between this policy and the Data safety section, please tell us at help.knocklock@gmail.com and we will correct it.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App or the law evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes โ such as introducing purchases or any new data collection โ we will provide additional notice in the App or on the Play listing before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
