Privacy Policy

Modeful: Minimal Launcher ("the App") is a minimal home-screen launcher built by GoldenKing Apps. It is designed to be private by default: the information it needs to work — your list of apps, your layout and preferences — is processed and kept on your device. The App is free and contains no advertisements.

1. Information We Collect

Processed on your device only (never collected or transmitted to us):

• The list of launchable apps installed on your device, so the App can display and open them.
• Your launcher preferences — favorites, layout, hidden apps, and settings.
• App usage statistics, only if you grant Usage Access (for screen-time insights and optional app timers).
• Notification badge counts, only if you grant Notification Access (to show unread indicators).

Collected by us (anonymous, via Google Firebase):

• Aggregate app usage events and analytics, and crash diagnostics, to keep the App stable and improve it.
• Basic device & technical information (device model, OS and app version) tied to non-persistent identifiers.

We do not collect your name, contacts, messages, photos, precise location, or the content of your notifications. The App does not read message or notification text for any purpose other than displaying an unread badge count on the device.

Modeful: Minimal Launcher does not display third-party advertisements and does not use advertising identifiers.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide the launcher experience — showing, organizing and opening your apps;
• To power optional features you enable (screen-time insights, app timers, notification badges);
• To understand aggregate usage and diagnose crashes so we can improve stability and features.

3. Permissions the App Uses

• Query installed apps (package visibility) — Required for a launcher. Used to list your launchable apps and to resolve your default phone, messaging, camera, browser, maps and settings apps so shortcuts work. This involves no runtime permission and the data stays on your device.
• Set as Home / default launcher — Lets you choose Modeful: Minimal Launcher as your home screen. You can change your default launcher at any time in your device settings.
• Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) — optional — Powers screen-time insights and gentle app timers. It is granted by you in your device's Usage Access settings and computed on your device. The App works fully without it, and you can revoke it anytime.
• Notification Access (Notification Listener) — optional — Used only to display unread notification badge counts on app icons. Notification content is not stored or transmitted. It is bound only after you grant access, the App works fully without it, and you can revoke it anytime.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted services, which process limited data under their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting. See the Firebase Privacy & Security page.

We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. On-Device Storage & Data Retention

Your app list, favorites, layout, settings, and any usage or badge data are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes this local data. Anonymous Firebase analytics and crash data are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above and are then deleted or anonymized.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. 9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
